Webmasters Don’t Power Links Anymore, People Power Links

Dan Thies & Leslie Rohde are in the middle of a launch for a product called Link Liberation. It’s a polished performance as usual from the SEO veterans and no doubt the product they offer will be well thought out and created. However they make a huge distinction in their presentation. Again is a silent move that has kind of snuck up on us.
More links are created today by users than by webmasters.
The rise of participation that Web 2.0 and Social Media have facilitated means that content creation and curation is in the hands of the many rather than the 2002 version of the web were the majority of content was created by geeks. So while there is a lot of talk about the changes Google and Yahoo are making to their algorithms at the moment, don’t miss the forest for the trees.
